What may not please guests at the wedding, and how to avoid it?
Wedding on weekdays. While for newlyweds, this is a way to save money and find free contractors, for guests it’s a need to take time off and go to work the next day. Therefore, this option is suitable only for a chamber wedding, and it will be necessary to warn guests as soon as possible. But if the guest list has passed for 50, it is better to hold a wedding on the traditional Saturday – otherwise you risk getting a lot of failures from your friends.
Too hot / cold. The room in which the summer wedding takes place must be equipped with air conditioning. And if you are planning a celebration in the winter, make sure that the guests will not freeze during the ceremony and the photo shoot.
The ill-conceived timing of the day, when the ceremony begins earlier than indicated in the invitation, or the buffet table is delayed for several hours.
Too long toasts. Warn guests and presenter that each toast is given no more than 5 minutes – so your guests will not be bored for sure!
Compliments for guests with photos of the bride and groom. It is better to choose more neutral or thematic gifts that will complement the concept of a wedding. For example, jars of honey, cupcakes or photo frames.
Errors in seating cards. Brides pay so much attention to the design that they sometimes forget to check the spelling of the names of the guests. Spell check twice before printing cards.
When the bride is too busy with organizational issues. It is better to hire a wedding coordinator, and spend more time with the groom and guests on your wedding day.
Poor seating. The lack of a seating plan creates unnecessary chaos during a banquet, so decide in advance who will sit at which table. At the same time, take into account the interests of the guests, their age, family ties and personal relationships so that everyone will be satisfied with their place.
Little food. Remember that a wedding is a busy day not only for the newlyweds, but also for the guests. In order to have the strength to dance the whole evening, dinner should be not only delicious, but also hearty.
The inability to come to the holiday with your soulmate. Even if you are not familiar with your girlfriend’s boyfriend, do not invite him to the wedding, if they have been together for a long time, simply ugly. And married couples should always receive invitations for two.
Wedding without dancing. Even if you are sure that your guests will not want to dance, still organize a dance floor and create a playlist – most likely, the guests will surprise you on the day of the celebration!
Insufficient number of chairs at the ceremony. Just once again count the number of guests and seats, so that none of the invitees had to spend the whole ceremony standing.
Lack of alcohol. If you are planning a non-alcoholic wedding, warn guests about this in advance (you can write about it in invitations). If this is not done, for most guests this will be a rather unpleasant surprise on their wedding day.
Wedding theme is incomprehensible to guests. If you want to arrange a themed wedding (for example, in the style of comics or your favorite fantasy), make sure that this concept is clear and close to all guests. To organize a Star Wars wedding, if more than half of those invited do not know that this is not the best idea.
Too many contests. Of course, there should be entertainment for the guests in the program of the evening, but leave time for your friends to calmly communicate with each other and eat.
Too many photos. None of the guests will refuse to visit the photo zone and take a few photos with the newlyweds as a souvenir. But do not make a full-fledged photo session for several hours: let the guests have more time to dance and socialize with each other, and you have more live and natural photos from the evening.
Unreasoned logistics. The easiest way is to order a transport that will deliver guests right from the morning to the venue of the celebration In the event that guests travel under their own power, make sure everyone knows the exact route. And do not forget about a taxi that will take everyone home.
The lack of a dress code. It will be a social event, and guests should wear tuxedos and luxurious dresses, or a boho-style home party? Express your wishes in advance on the dress code (dress style, color palette) to simplify the task of choosing images and avoid awkward situations on your wedding day.
Monotonous playlist. The older generation is unlikely to appreciate the hard rock, and the songs of the 90s are unlikely to “stir up” the youth. Try to find a middle ground and combine dance music with lyrical compositions.
Not enough latrines.
